DESCRIPTION:The Wesley Foundation at the University of Michigan and First United Methodist Church of Ann Arbor are co-hosting a Still Beloved worship service for the community. These are conference-wide events which are a response/resistance to the recent General Conference. The purpose is to encourage one another\, celebrate the gifts of our LGBTQ+ siblings\, and to update one another on our ongoing movement toward full inclusion. \nFree parking is available either in the Liberty Square Parking Garage or on the street. Both are free on Sunday. Handicap accessible parking can be found in the surface lot on Washington St. \nEnter the building off of Washington Street through the double doors. The Sanctuary is on Floor 1\, up one level from where you enter the building. You can take the stairs up on the right or the elevator on the left. The Sanctuary is around the corner on the right. \nGender Neutral and handicap accessible restrooms are located on the Ground Floor. Additional restrooms are on Floor 1\, just before entering the Sanctuary.

DESCRIPTION:Out Loud explores the journey of discovering oneself. Selections include I’ve Gotta Be Me\, Mulan’s Reflection\, a medley from Kinky Boots and Unwritten. Director Paul Haebig leads the chorus with Annie Jeng on piano\, Tamara Perkuhn on percussion and Edie Herrold on bass. \nWe rate our concerts “PG” (some parental guidance suggested) even though it is our goal that our concerts are all ages friendly. There may be some language or concepts requiring explanation to young attendees. While we will not use excessive profanities\, different people have different standards for what is considered appropriate and inappropriate. We realize the LGBTQ community spans a wide variety of people from diverse backgrounds and everyone responds to things from those different perspectives. If you think your children might not have been exposed to the full breadth of the LGBTQ community\, we welcome you to bring them knowing that you may need to explain some of what they experience. \n“Destination: Me” will be performed Friday\, May 20 and Saturday\, May 21\, 2016. Tickets are $18 for general admission\, $12 for students and seniors (65+).  Free for children under 4.
